A Georgia based public research university needed to upgrade Maximo since their version of the software was no longer supported by IBM. The effectiveness of their Maximo instance had declined over the years and had not evolved with their processes. Staff resorted to using spreadsheets for their asset management processes which was time-consuming and often resulted in duplicate work.
The client wanted to leverage the latest out-of-the-box Maximo functionality and needed a vendor who could deliver a complete solution: perform a software upgrade, streamline major business processes, deliver end-user training and provide post-upgrade support.
As a first step, ValuD conducted an on-site assessment of the client’s asset management processes to align Maximo software capabilities and best practices. ValuD provided a major systems overhaul by performing an application upgrade and automating business processes. For example, custom reports automated the entire regulatory compliance workflow resulting in substantial cost and time savings. ValuD implemented EZMax Mobile workforce system which automated and streamlined major business processes like work order processing and field data collection. Also, ValuD provided extensive training to the user base which helped drive user adoption and move employees away from their spreadsheets.
The upgraded system enabled the client to leverage the OOTB functionalities of Maximo resulting in increased asset utilization. Work flow automation and enhanced work management improved overall service delivery and better resource utilization. The mobile platform helped streamline business processes, increased compliance, and saved time and costs.
