A state agency in charge of protecting the natural resources of the state sought a single source application to manage lands owned by its three divisions. There was a significant overlap between these three divisions in terms of project, process, and information management needs. Multiple legacy systems and manual processes created data accuracy and migration issues. An unorganized and inconsistent revenue tracking system resulted in revenue losses.
The client sought a single, comprehensive land management system that could automate the management and tracking of all business processes, provide geospatial information access, and establish and maintain robust internal controls and audit trails. The client preferred to have a simple, configurable Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software solution with wide-ranging capabilities that required minimal customization.
With three divisions attempting to come together for a single solution, requirements gathering was challenging. ValuD proposed a two-phased solution to meet the client’s requirements. The first phase involved implementation of the IBM TRIRIGA Real Estate Lease module to streamline revenue streams. For example, the lease form configuration helped the client accurately track the royalties owed to them from mineral leases.
ValuD leveraged the cloud and implemented TRIRIGA as a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model to minimize costs. Despite data accuracy issues, ValuD successfully completed the data migration activities and provided extensive system training to promote user adoption.
Implementation of the IBM TRIRIGA Real Estate Lease module helped the client streamline their business processes and enabled them to better track their royalties. This opened up a new revenue stream resulting in substantial financial gains while the cloud model kept implementation and support costs to a minimum. Asset tracking became easier and resulted in significant cost and time savings.
IBM TRIRIGA’s robust Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) capabilities and ease of configuration reduced the need for customization while ValuD’s training helped drive system adoption among users. The client has already enlisted ValuD for the second phase of the project (implementation of IBM TRIRIGA Capital Project Manager and Real Estate Transaction Management) in reaffirmation of their faith in ValuD’s expertise.
